Using Folders on the iPhone 4

The iPhone 4 and iOS 4 supports home screen folders, allowing you to organize your home screen and group relevant applications together in a single folder.


How to create a folder on the iPhone
  1. Touch and hold an app until it wiggles
  2. Drag the app onto another application to create a folder
  3. You can put up to 12 applications into any one iPhone folder
How to launch an application from a folder
  1. Identify the folder that houses the app you want to open
  2. Tap on the folder
  3. Tap on the application you want to open within the folder
  4. Alternatively, use the Spotlight search function to find the application and open it from there
How to rename a folder
  1. Tap on a folder
  2. Select the text bar at the top of the dock that will appear
  3. Type a new name to rename the folder, then tap Done
How to remove items from a folder
  1. Tap on a folder to open it
  2. Tap and hold one of the items in the folder
  3. Tap on the 'x' in the corner of the item
  4. The item will be deleted from the folder
