If you want to use Kaspersky Mobile Security 9, you must first activate the application. The activation procedure involves entering the activation code and then receiving a key to be used by the application to determine your rights and the period during which you can use the application.
The activation code is located on the back of the CD envelope or within your order email. It is a unique set of characters that comes in 4 blocks of 5, separated by a hyphen (-), for a total of 20 characters. Example: XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX. Each block of 5 characters can be a combination of letters or numbers.
Please follow the activation instructions below that correspond to the Operating System on your mobile device.
Windows Mobile Installation (Windows Mobile 5.0, 6.0, 6.1, or 6.5):
- Select Programs from the Start menu.
- Find and select KMS 9.0.
- Select Enter Code, and then enter the activation code into the four fields. Press Next.
- You will be prompted to confirm that your mobile device has an Internet connection.
- You will then be prompted to enter a secret code, which can be used in the future to initiate Anti-Theft features, or to configure Parental Controls or other device settings. Press Continue, and then create and confirm a secret code. Then press OK.
- The application will contact the Kaspersky Lab activation server to download and install the key file. If the activation code you entered appears invalid for any reason, a corresponding message will be displayed on your mobile device's screen. If the key file installation is successful, you will see a notification screen. Press OK.
- You will then see information about the license. Press OK.
Symbian Installation (Symbian OS 9.1, 9.2, 9.3 or 9.4, Series 60 UI):
- Open the device's Main menu.
- Open the Applications menu.
- Select KMS 9.0, and review the application information. Press OK.
- Select Options, then select Enter Code.
- Enter the activation code into the four fields. Then select Options, then Activate.
- You will be prompted to confirm that your mobile device has an Internet connection.
- Select an access point to be used to connect to the Kaspersky Lab activation server. The application will contact the Kaspersky Lab activation server to download and install the key file. If the activation code you entered appears invalid for any reason, a corresponding message will be displayed on your mobile device's screen. If the key file installation is successful, information about the license will be displayed on the screen. Press OK.
- You will be prompted to enter a secret code, which can be used in the future to initiate Anti-Theft features, or to configure Parental Controls or other device settings. Press Yes, and then create a secret code. Then press OK.
- You will be prompted to confirm the secret code. Then press OK.
After Installation of the Application
We recommend that you complete the following actions immediately after the installation and activation of Kaspersky Mobile Security 9. (Image May be subjected to copy write)
- Update the anti-virus databases by Selecting Update within the Anti-Virus menu.
- Run a Full Scan to check for viruses on your mobile device.
- Review the information displayed in the Protection Status menu and adjust the security settings to meet your needs.
