How To Disable Messenger Service in Windows XP

Step 1:

Click Start->Settings ->Control Panel

Step 2:

Click Performance and Maintenance.

Step 3:

Click Administrative Tools.

Step 4:

Double click Services.Scroll down and highlight "Messenger".

Step 5:

Right-click the highlighted line and choose Properties.Click the STOP button.

Step 6:

Select Disable --> Click OK

Now You are done.
