Disable Highlight New Programs in Start Menu in WIndows XP

Step 1:

Right click the Start button.

Step 2:

Select Properties.

Step 3:

Choose the Start Menu tab and then click the Customize button

Step 4:

Go To Customize button --> Advanced tab

Step 5:

Under 'Start Menu Settings' uncheck the "Highlight newly installed programs" entry.

Step 6:

Click OK
